Filling of a Thin Mold
An initially empty thin mold domain W is filled with a fluid.
The objective is to track the fluid-air front G(t).
If the air in the mold is vented this problem is described by
- p is pressure
- Qk is the flux (vol./time) at injection point k,
- n is the normal on the fill front,
- vn is the velocity of the fill front,
- K is thefluidity;in case shown K(x,y)=max([x/y], [y/x])
Voller and his group have worked extensively on developing fixed grid volume of fluid VOF solutions for this problem.
The above simulation is a particular novel and efficient scheme based on a Hybrid Mote-Carlo Lattice-Boltzmann Method.
